It's not hard to guess that Catherine AD is a name variant of Catherine Anne Davies, also known as "The Anchoress". This wonderful acoustic album bears some similarity in sound, songwriting, and arrangement with "The Kitchen Sessions" of the "Confessions Of A Romance Novelist". Frankly, I like the songs on "Communion" even more. This is exactly the kind of mesmerizing songwriting and performance that was introduced and perfected by Tori Amos since 1980, and it's great to see that other artists still practice it nowadays.
